jefferson starship + the looselips

A promotional poster for local band and frequent client, The Looselips and their show with the 1970s band, Jefferson Starship. The band had asked for a psychedelic look to the poster. I knew I did not want the typical font from the 70s that ends up hard to read. It took me a minute to figure out my direction with it. I doodled the zen tangle (pictured) and knew that had to be the background so i scanned it in and manipulated the colors in photoshop and illustrator. Mirroring the zen tangle was one of the last things i did and it sort of brought it all together and finished the look. The band ended up including a commemorative pin (pictured) of just the info from the poster and print of the poster with a purchase of a ticket.
